# Create a language or script block

> Blocks or quarantines mail by the language it is written in (`match_type: lang`, ISO 639-1) or by its writing system (`match_type: script`, ISO 15924). A language matches when the detector names it with confidence at or above `threshold`, or marks the detection reliable. A script matches when at least `threshold` of the letters use it. Blocking a script affects every language written in it; Cyrillic, for example, covers Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian.
