# Plans & Billing

> Understand subscriber limits, included features, storage, plan changes, and dedicated IP add-ons.

Marketing Suite plans are based on the number of **subscribed contacts** stored in the account, rather than charging for each marketing message.

## What counts toward the limit

A contact counts when its status is **Subscribed**. Contacts marked **Unsubscribed**, **Bounced**, or **Complained** remain available for suppression and reporting but are not active recipients.

You can see current usage in:

* **Marketing** → **Contacts**
* **Billing** → **Subscription** → **Marketing**

The Contacts page warns when usage reaches 80% and blocks new subscribed contacts at the plan limit.

## Free and paid plans

| Feature                              | Free Marketing               | Paid Marketing           |
| ------------------------------------ | ---------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Subscribers                          | Up to 1,000                  | Selected subscriber tier |
| Marketing domains                    | 1                            | Multiple                 |
| Image storage                        | 1 GB                         | 1 TB                     |
| Marketing sends | Core campaign tools included | Unlimited |
| Marketing transactional API | Not included | No monthly message limit |
| Remove JetEmail unsubscribe branding | No | Yes |
| Dedicated IP add-on                  | Not available                | Available                |

Paid pricing begins with the tier shown in the dashboard. JetEmail publishes a 5,000-subscriber plan at \$29 USD per month; larger tiers and the price charged to your account are always shown under **Billing** → **Subscription** before confirmation.

<Note>
  Marketing broadcasts do not consume the quota of a separate Outbound plan. The Marketing transactional endpoint is also separate from the general Outbound transactional API.
</Note>

<Note>
  Marketing transactional sending is subject to JetEmail's fair-play policy and API rate limit even though paid plans have no monthly message allocation.
</Note>

## Change a plan

1. Go to **Billing** → **Subscription**
2. Find **Marketing**
3. Move the subscriber slider to the tier you need
4. Review its contact limit and monthly price
5. Click **Upgrade** or **Downgrade**
6. Confirm the change

The dashboard shows a syncing banner while Stripe and the JetEmail account update. This normally completes within a minute. Do not submit a second purchase while the first change is syncing.

### Upgrade

An upgrade raises the subscriber limit after the plan change is processed. The exact charge and billing treatment appear in the confirmation flow.

### Downgrade to a smaller paid tier

You must first reduce subscribed contacts to the new tier's limit. A smaller paid limit takes effect when the change is processed.

### Downgrade to Free

The Free downgrade is scheduled for the end of the current paid billing period. Paid features remain active until that date. The 1,000-subscriber limit then applies.

If you change your mind before the effective date, use **Keep paid plan** in the Marketing billing card.

## Reduce subscribed contacts

Before downgrading:

1. Open **Marketing** → **Contacts**
2. Review contacts by search and tag
3. Open a contact
4. Turn off **Subscribed**
5. Save changes

Only change a contact's status when you have a valid reason to stop marketing to them. Deleting contacts removes their stored profile and delivery context; unsubscribing preserves the suppression signal.

## Image storage

The **Marketing** → **Files** page shows used, remaining, and total storage.

* Free: 1 GB
* Paid: 1 TB
* Per-image upload maximum: 5 MB
* Accepted dashboard upload formats: PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP

Deleting an image can break current templates and previously delivered email. The Files page checks current template references and warns before deletion.

## Dedicated IP add-on

Paid plans can add one or more dedicated Marketing IPs from the same billing card, up to the limit shown in the dashboard. Pricing is per IP per month.

After provisioning, assign an IP:

* Account-wide through the default Marketing pool configuration, where available
* Per domain under **Marketing** → **Domains** → the domain → **Sending IP**

Remove dedicated IPs before a scheduled downgrade to Free. If billing shows conflicting IP subscriptions, contact support before making further changes.
