# Broadcasts

> Send a template to an audience now or later and understand the live report.

A broadcast is a one-time marketing send: one template, one audience, one subject, and an optional scheduled time.

## Before you send

Make sure you have:

* An active [Marketing domain](/docs/marketing/domains)
* A template with a valid sender and an unsubscribe link
* An audience containing permission-based subscribed contacts
* Tested content, merge fields, images, and links

## Create a broadcast

1. Go to **Marketing** → **Broadcasts**
2. Click **New broadcast**
3. Enter an internal name
4. Select a template
5. Select an audience
6. Review the inherited sender
7. Review or override the subject
8. Add optional internal tags
9. Save a draft, send now, or schedule

The editor shows the selected template in a preview panel. If the template has no sender, follow **Set a from address** to edit the template before sending.

<Note>
  Changing the subject on a broadcast does not change the template's saved subject. The from name, from address, reply-to, preview text, and body remain inherited from the template.
</Note>

## Save a draft

Click **Save draft** when the name and template are ready. An audience is not required until you send.

Drafts reopen in the broadcast editor from the Broadcasts list. Use tags to label campaigns by team, initiative, region, or lifecycle.

## Send now

Leave **Schedule** blank and click **Send now**. JetEmail validates the audience and template, then queues the broadcast.

<Warning>
  Check the audience and content before confirming. Once a broadcast is queued and delivery starts, it cannot be recalled from recipient mail systems.
</Warning>

## Schedule a broadcast

1. Enter a future local date and time under **Schedule**
2. Confirm the date shown below the field
3. Click **Schedule**

The broadcast appears with **Scheduled** status. Open it from the list to revise the draft or scheduled settings before sending begins. Use **Clear** to remove the scheduled time and save it as a draft.

## Broadcast statuses

| Status        | Meaning                                 |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | Saved but not queued |
| **Scheduled** | Waiting for its scheduled time |
| **Sending** | Recipients are actively being processed |
| **Sent** | The send has completed |
| **Failed** | The broadcast could not complete |
| **Paused** | Processing is not currently progressing |

While a visible broadcast is sending, the list refreshes its status and sent counts automatically.

## Open the report

Draft and scheduled rows open in the editor. Sending, sent, and failed rows open the report.

### Headline metrics

The report shows:

* **Recipients** — intended recipient count
* **Sent** — messages successfully handed into delivery processing
* **Failed** — messages that failed
* **Pending** — recipients not yet counted as sent or failed
* **Open rate** — unique opened messages divided by sent messages
* **Click rate** — unique clicked messages divided by sent messages
* **Delivery rate** — sent messages as a percentage of recipients

Sending reports update live until the broadcast settles.

### Recipient results

Search by recipient email and page through the message records. Status can include:

* Queued
* Processed
* Deferred
* Delivered
* Rejected
* Complaint
* Opened
* Clicked

Click a recipient row to open the full message timeline under Marketing Logs.

<Note>
  A deferred event is not necessarily a final failure. A receiver can temporarily defer a message and later accept it, so delivery-health statuses can overlap.
</Note>

## Find broadcasts

The list supports:

* Search by internal broadcast name
* Filter by internal tags
* 25-row pagination
* Live status updates for active sends

Marketing sends are accounted for separately and do not consume an Outbound email quota. Paid Marketing plans include unlimited marketing sends.

## Pre-send checklist

* Confirm the intended audience and its eligible count
* Confirm the sender uses an active domain
* Send the template to a real test inbox
* Check merge data for missing or unusually long values
* Open every link
* Review mobile and plain-text output
* Include a working unsubscribe link and required sender identification
* Confirm the schedule and timezone
